I'm taking a crazy amount of work this semester, and I know I really should do co-curicular activities (in addition to the crazy academic load) if I want to stay in a good place on campus. I need help here: how do you handle a lot of classes/tutorials/co-k activities all at the same time? Do you have any specific habits or strategies in particular? What works for you, and what do you think I should try out?

You can either sacrifice your sleep to get all of your work done or face the fact that you will never finish or attend 100% of your work/tutes etc.

I think that's THE MOST accurate diagram I have seen so far. XD
Anyway..
I find that reading your lecture notes or prescribed texts just before going to bed is helpful. And if you do take public transportation, squeeze in some reading time there. Even a bit of cramming when you're crapping sounds like a good idea esp when you feel like you don't have enough time! (^.^)
Do you have recorded lectures? Download them and listen to them instead of new music or something. XP

Rule Number 1 : Slack
Rule Number 2 : Slack more
Rule Number 3 : Never Disobey Rules 1 & 2 =)Posted 6 months ago # -
@Joash: OMG AWESOME STRATEGY!!! (I kid, I kid) I'm actually slacking a little bit these past coupla days, but that's got to change. Need to catch up in time for the mid-terms. Now to figure out how ...
@Cassie: I'm already doing readings in the bus, and I think there was this one time where I went to sleep with a book over my face (yes, in bed, and yes, it was around 3-4 in the morning =P). I think the workload in Uni - regardless of where you are - is pretty damned tough la. Any other strategies? Like - how do you keep track of deadlines?
PS: love the graph. ;-)

Eat. I don't know if it's because it's so cold here or the stress made me hungry, but in the two weeks before exams, I ate so much. But it kept me going, and that's all that matters. Then again, I know people who can't eat when they are stressed and lose weight...
Study groups. It was a week before exams and I was far from finishing past year papers, thank goodness for my housemate and a classmate, we pulled through and finished it in much less time. Group dynamics is important though, so thankful that we pulled through alright. We all have our strong points, which compliments each other. Well it's not easy to get one up and going and maintain one, which is why it seems this only works just before exams.
Be realistic. You know your limits, you know how far to push them. The brain needs rest too...
And don't forget to take time to chill =)
