  1. Shyness is an epidemic I tell you, an epidemic!

I have a craving for burgers. What does that make me? A burgophile? =3

  2. I was laughing the whole way when I was in the surgery room even though I was scared. I was supposed to be sleeping after the sedative was injected. I was there telling doctor I was under pain and still laughing.

  3. You okay, Andrew? What happened? =/

I just came back to my room after two days of programming in a student lounge on campus, with 7 other people.

We slept on couches, ate cup noodles, or practically just didn't sleep at all.

  4. I am more afraid of having blood taken for sampling than having a needle stuck up my blood vessel to donate blood. Haha. My logic is before they insert the big needle, they inject local anaesthetic? :S

And after that your arm feels all stiff and all, sometimes you even feel woozy, but it sure does feel good knowing you've done something good. You get free food too! Haha.

  5. That's not particularly funny! o.O

I recently bought a packet of potpurri. Left it in my room, to hopefully counteract the smell of exhaust (my cluster's near the road leading to the National University Hospital) ... and now the smell's all but gone.

    Sigh.

  6. You could try using charcoal? There's some sold specifically for odour eliminating purposes, because charcoal's really absorbent.

Oh funny thing my friends and I did during the week before exams when studying at the library's group study rooms, during breaks for meals, we'd put on Big Bang Theory on the big monitor provided. Haha.

  7. Lemmie throw in something I think would be really really funny! This isn't a funny thing I always do but I did it once and man, I felt so embarrassed after that!

It was at the fine dining M'sian restaurant I'm working at. Fyi, I don't know the names of the alcohol well so one time, when one of the customers was telling me the name of the drink he wanted, I heard him say:

    "I want a Sahid."

Really, I heard that. Sooo, I wrote down on the order pad "Sahid" and I thought, "Hmmm.. That's a funny drink. Sounds like a Malay guy's name." but I didn't bother asking the head waiter cuz I heard the bell in the kitchen and went in there to take out some food.

Then the head waiter came in to look for me and ask me,

"Cassandra, what did the customer say he wanted?"

And I repeated what I heard and he sighed, turned the paper around and wrote down in CAPS:

    ASAHI.

    Ayo! (X______X)

After that super duper extremely and totally memalukan incident, I never got the name of that Japanese beer wrong ever again!

Ok, go ahead and laugh at me. XD

  8. @Wen Qi: I'll go look for charcoal. Or maybe I'll buy two sticks and leave them in my shoes. (Just for the heck of it - let's just say I don't like my shoes anymore).

@Cassie: =P There's such thing as an Asahi beer? Your boss quite cool ler, still sighed and corrected it for you. Did he laugh over it?

Funny thing happened the other day - I think you know right, last weekend I spent 24 hours in one room with 7 other people, programming. We started at 7pm, and ended at around midnight the next day. And the majority of them were PRC Chinese.

So I was happily programming on the couch and it was near the midnight deadline on Sunday. We had been in that room to close to a day already, and then suddenly I kept hearing them mention 'tapau tapau'. I thought they meant the pizza we had ordered (there were still some leftovers, and I think we all enjoyed it).

Then I heard: "Ni de code hao liaw ma? Wo yao tapau liaw!"

    Eh?

So I asked them. And it turns out that tapau is the Chinese word for zip! As in, making a zip file! So tapau wo men de assignment is really compressing our files into a .zip file!

I stared at them blankly for the longest time, I tell you. And then we all burst out laughing.

  9. O.O I can't believe my old account posts are still here. Interesting. I recently found out I have a girly quirk. If Im rounding a corner, if its spaced just right, I will twirl on the ball of my feet to exit round that corner. Even in badminton. When Im picking up the shuttle, I just....twirl..I don't just bend down. I friggin twirl....
