Hi all,
Daniel (Chong) recently asked me to give him links to basic photography tutorials (his actual words were: 'can share with me a website that teaches photography terms? Like ... aperture. Or the meaning between diff type of lenses or why the heck there's a mm range at all')
He's going to India soon, you see, and there's probably going to be many photo opportunities there. So he wants to know the basics.
I told him I'll open this thread and have the rest of the UGS community post up links and advice and things like that. So let's give him a hand! =)
Me first:
I scouted around a bit and found these two pages to be useful:
Photography Basics by Tutorial9
About.com's introductory page to photography
Seriously though, the only thing you need to understand is the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO. The technical bits of photography are comparatively easy. Shouldn't take you long to get up to speed. =)
